Stop Ridiculing Nigeria’s Justice System, CACOL Warns Judges

Nigerian judges have been warned to desist from treating corruption cases with kids gloves by defending the sanctity of equity and the nation’s justice system. The warning was issued in a press statement by a group of anti-corruption civil society groups under the aegis of Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders, CACOL.
The coalition in the statement signed by its Executive Chairman, Debo Adeniran said its intervention has become imperative following recent developments in the nation’s judicial system where cases that border on fraud and diversion of public funds are handled in less than transparent manner and with levity. CACOL BACKS SENATOR ADEYEMI ON SPECIAL ANTI-GRAFT AGENCY FOR CORRUPT POLITICIANS

The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) has backed the call by the Chairman, Senate Committee on the Federal Capital Territory, Smart Adeyemi for the establishment of special anti-graft agency for corrupt politicians.

Corroborating the submissions of the legislator, the Executive Chairman of CACOL, Debo Adeniran noted that establishing another anti-graft agency that would be free from the influence of the Ministry of Justice that whittles down the power of the existing anti-graft agencies, is the only way out of the institutionalised corruption bedevilling the nation. CACOL BERATES FASHOLA SECRETIVE GOVERNMENT

The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) has berated the Lagos State Governor, Mr Babatunde Raji Fashola, SAN for barring political office holders in the state from granting interviews or speaking to journalists on behalf of his government.

The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) has berated the Attorney-General of the Federation and the Minister of Justice, Mr Mohammed Adoke for allegedly withholding the report of police investigation and draft charges against the embattled former Chairman of the House of Representatives Ad hoc Committee on Fuel Subsidy, Hon. The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL)) has condemned the Nigerian  National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) for the $1.5bn foreign loan purportedly sought by the corporation to settle unpaid fuel supply bills being owed some commodity trading houses.

ADDRESS LEAKAGES IN FUEL SUBSIDY PAYMENTS-CACOL TELLS JONATHAN

The Coalition Against Corrupt Leaders (CACOL) has urged President Goodluck Jonathan to address the leakages in the subsidy payments instead of requesting for more money to finance the fraud touted fuel subsidy.
